svnadmin verify is so slow

Hi,

We just upgrade from 1.4.6 to 1.5.4 but didn't upgrade our repository to 1.5 yet.
We have a cron job running svnadmin verify every night. Everything is fine when run this command against our repositories before upgrade. After upgrade, this command takes almost 12 hours to finish verification(normally only 1.5 hour). It's extremely slow and especially against our biggest repository which is almost 9G . I'm just wondering if this is because we don't upgrade our 1.5.4 . Is this normal?

Thanks,

Jim

I would like suggest to move this to developer email group. Obviously, this is a performance issue though it is not a bug.
We upgraded all repositories to 1.5 from 1.4 last week.
Now , svnadmin verify is a little bit faster than before. It tooks about 7 hours (previously, 10 hours).
I guess if I do dump and load instead of svnadmin upgrade, it will be even faster.

Obviously, svnadmin verify 1.5 can work against 1.4 repositories but has big performance issue.
